Mr. Rivera graduated from the World University in May, 1982 with a BS in Computer Science and maintained continued systems education in Puerto Rico, Texas, and California. From 1992 to 1998 Rivera was the Continuing Education Manager at Mai Del Caribe a hardware and software distributor in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Mr. Rivera has been in management positions of Information Systems for more than 30 years in government, nonprofits and business entities in industries as diverse as pharmaceuticals, contractors, advertising, and hardware and other retail stores. Rivera has experience in software and operating system installations, networking, upgrades, conversions, troubleshooting connectivity problems, and support for a variety of programs. He is also qualified in software development, database design, research and development, and data integrity and recovery.
In small business software installations, Rivera has experience in Sage MIP, FASGOV, Peachtree, Sage 50 and Timeslips products for government, profit and nonprofit entities providing installation, training and support.
Rivera is Managing Partner and Partner in Charge of Information Technology Services at Caribbean Systems Support, LLC.
José J. Negrón, CPA, CIRA CGMA
CPA José J. Negrón Colón graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1992 with majors in Accounting and Finance. He obtained his License as Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in 2001, Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA) in 2012 and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) in 2014.
In his 22 years’ experience in public accounting, Negrón has been engaged in financial audits of public and private entities, business valuations and insolvency processes to turnaround businesses. Since 2001 Negrón has been President of J N & Advisors, CSP engaged in accounting and audits for public and private entities.
In his continued education and experience, Negron has developed expertise in multiple accounting and data management systems and has been involved in training and support in multiple industries.
Negrón is authorized to practice public accounting in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico with License Number 4989 issued by the Puerto Rico Board of Accountancy.
CPA Negrón is the Partner in Charge of the Accounting Practice of Caribbean Systems Support.
José M. Monge Robertín, CPA, CIRA, CGMA
Mr. Monge graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, with a major in Accounting and a minor in Psychology, in 1973. He was admitted to the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants and to practice public accounting in Puerto Rico in January 1977, with License number 1160. In November 1998 Monge passed the Examination for Certified Insolvency and Reorganization Advisors. He was issued his certificate as Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) in February 1999, being the first in Puerto Rico. In 2012, Mr. Monge was admitted as Chartered Global Management Accountant, a certificate of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Monge started in public accounting as an intern with the national accounting firm Laventhol & Horwarth in 1972. After graduating from the University of Puerto Rico, in June 1973, he entered Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., (now KPMG Peat) where he reached the position of audit supervisor. During his years in Peat, he was involved in audits of government entities, insurance companies, public housing developers, financing institutions, manufacturing and retailers. He was also involved in major consulting contracts in the Puerto Rico Treasury and the State Insurance Fund.
In 1979 Mr. Monge started his own practice and since 1989 Mr. Monge has been primarily involved in business development consulting, turnarounds and business reorganizations. Since 2010 the firm operates as Monge Robertín & Asociados, Inc., a consulting firm dedicated to Restructuring, Turnaround and Bankruptcy Insolvency Services.
During his 45 years of experience, Mr. Monge has been involved in audits, accounting and consulting engagements to governmental agencies, municipalities, credit unions, construction companies, developers, manufacturing firms, retail and wholesale businesses, transportation, municipalities, insurance companies, and agricultural projects. He has also managed business valuations, business plans, financial projections and expert witness services. In the area of financing he has been involved in numerous cases of commercial financing with local institutions and investors.
Mr. Monge is partner in Charge of Financial Advisory Services in Caribbean Systems Support, LLC.
Mr. Monge is member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Caguas Chapter of the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants, Vice President- Puerto Rico of the Association of Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, Founder and President of the Puerto Rico AIRA Chapter, and member of the The American Bankruptcy Institute.
Mr. Monge has been a speaker in conferences to the Puerto Rico Dairy Association, the University of Puerto Rico, Cayey Campus and the Commonwealth Department of Labor.
Myrna Ocasio
Mrs. Ocasio graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration, with a major in Management from the University of Turabo in Caguas in 1979.
From 1980 to 2011, (retired) Mrs. Ocasio worked at the Office of Management and Budget, in the in Federal Programs, of the Office of the Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. During her 31 years in the OPG, she was involved in the reviews of compliance of local and federal programs in government agencies, public corporations and municipalities and was part of the office of the Governor’s Representative Office for Federal Programs. Since 2012, Mrs. Ocasio has been providing support to Monge Robertín & Asociados to resolve problems of private clients with government agencies and municipalities. Mrs. Ocasio currently serves a liaison and contract coordinator at Caribbean Support Services.
